CardSnap is a business-card scanner that runs on your device. This policy explains
what the app does — and deliberately does not do — with your data.
• Card images and text. Photos you take or pick are processed entirely on your
device using on-device text recognition (Google ML Kit, bundled model). Card images
and the text read from them are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared by
CardSnap. They exist only in the app's memory during a scan and, if you choose,
in the contact you save.
• Contacts. With your permission, CardSnap writes the contacts you choose to save
into the Android contacts account you select, and reads contacts only to warn you
about duplicates. CardSnap never uploads your contacts.
• Settings you enter. Your mapping templates, custom-input reuse values, and the
name of your chosen default contacts account are stored in a private file on your
device only. Device backups of this file are disabled.
• Nothing you scan. No card image, card text, or contact data ever leaves your
device through CardSnap.
• Google Play Billing. If you subscribe to CardSnap Pro, the purchase is handled
by Google Play. CardSnap sends no personal data to Play; Google processes the
payment under Google's Privacy Policy.
• Library diagnostics. The on-device text-recognition library (Google ML Kit) may
transmit anonymized diagnostics and performance telemetry to Google (for example,
crash and model-performance metrics). This telemetry does not include your card
images, recognized text, or contacts. See
Google's ML Kit terms for details.
• No accounts, no sign-in, no analytics SDKs, no ads, no trackers.
• No sale or sharing of any personal data — we never have it in the first place.
Everything CardSnap stores lives on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes the
app's data. Contacts you saved remain in your contacts account (delete them from
your Contacts app if desired).
CardSnap is not directed at children under 13.
